Painter | mixed media artist
Based at Hebble End Works, Hebden Bridge
Anna is a painter of vague places (landscape) and of the odd thing (shoes, chairs etc.). Painting has become her favoured medium although, early on in her arts practice, she studied hand-ceramics.
The subjects she chooses change back and forth from still life to landscapes. Materials used include acrylics and oils and she likes to incorporate text and collage into the surface of the paintings. She is currently focusing on process, which has resulted in lots of canvases and boards filling her small studio…all moving towards resolution…hopefully!
She has lived in Yorkshire since 2000 and has had work selected for exhibitions in a variety of venues. Earlier in 2017, two of her works were shortlisted in the National Open Art competition.
Since spring 2016 her studio/gallery has been based at Hebble End Works, an interesting old mill building on the Rochdale Canal in Hebden Bridge and welcomes studio visits by prior appointment.
