artist | workshop leader
based in Haworth, Yorkshire
Inspired by nature in all its manifestations, from the cosmos to the minute, from physical through emotional to spiritual, Jane expresses in a variety of media. Presently working with acrylic, ink, pastel and clay, often using music, which can feed into a piece and back out to inspire the musician. She is interested in the healing quality of the process of making art, along with the connection to divinity and being fully in the moment, which has contributed to the intensity, vibrancy and abstraction in her current paintings.
With a previous art school background in 3D design and fine art, then working in a pre‐school art and craft room, Jane has spent the last 7‐8 years painting, drawing and exhibiting locally, delivering art workshops for young adults with special needs and at festivals.
She has helped coordinate the Art Trail for Haworth Festival for the last 3 years and is currently in partnership at Pied Piper Pianos and Gallery, delivering ‘muse’ workshops, facilitating exhibitions of local artists and holding a weekly drop in art session. Her ongoing ‘Spread the Love’ project takes her running the moors, leaving a trail of tiny ceramic hearts…
